Cape Philharmonic Orchestra – summer sunset concert at Kirstenbosch
Introduce the kids to classical music in the spectacular Kirstenbosch NBG at the Cape Philharmonic’s summer sunset concert on Sun 1.
For 100 years, from the inaugural concert of the Cape Town Municipal Orchestra in February, 1914, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra has been the foremost orchestra in Africa.
The most active orchestra in the country, the CPO is extremely versatile, performing symphony concerts at the highest level with internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists and exceptional South African artists.
This concert will be conducted by Martin Panteleev and feature Maria Tien-Du Toit on clarinet. The programme will include Wagner’s Tanhauser Overture, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Francesca Da Rimini
