History of Beads
Older teenage girls will enjoy a ‘History of Beads’ presentation at the Origins Centre, followed by a bracelet-making class. Sat 31. R250pp.
An ideal mother/daughter bonding experience, this bracelet-making class with artist Severa Cassarino (an established South African artist, born in Italy, and educated at the University of the Witwatersrand) will offer an opportunity to make your own personalised piece of jewellery with designer guidance.
The class will commence with a presentation entitled ‘From Blombos to Barbie’, tracing the origins of the bead from the very beginning of human history through the rough times of the trade bead, to the present day.
Your creation will be unique, fun and infinitely wearable.
