Junior Nature Conservator course

Four-day Junior Nature Conservator course at Pretoria Zoo from Tues 3 for kids in Grades 7-12, working with zoo conservation staff. R 150pp.

This four-day course for Grade 7 – 12 learners provides an opportunity for them to become acquainted with the animals in the zoo.

The activity-filled course introduces learners to the wider field of nature conservation. Learners will explore and research the adaptations, behaviour and conservation issues of animals in the zoo, reptile park and aquarium. They will interact with the zoo’s conservation and veterinary staff, and will also assist with the husbandry of selected animals.

After completion of the course learners may join the ZooClub which aims to inspire its members to follow a career in science.

All learners will receive a T-shirt and a certificate.

The course is facilitated in English and runs from 08h00 to 16h00 over a period of four days.
