Grant Egen’s knowledge of butterflies and birds is quite outstanding. Join him for two hours of ‘birding for everyone’ and let him introduce you to some of Kloofendal’s +/- 45 bird species.
The Chamberlain guide to Birding Gauteng writes: “The Kloofendal Nature Reserve is (still) considered a goldmine by birders, offering such gems as Malachite Sunbird, Wailing Cisticola and breeding Black Sparrowhawks”.
Grant is much in demand by bird clubs and Kruger Park Honorary Rangers as a bird guide. He can often be seen at Kloofendal in the early hours of the morning.

You are advised to take a hat and sunblock.
The cost is R 60 for adults, and R 40 for children under 12.
Entry into the reserve is free. There are picnic and ablution facilities
There is no tuck shop and no restaurant, so please take your own refreshments.
