Nocturnal scorpion and spider walk
‘Scorpions and spiders’ – guided evening walk with Jonathan Leeming at Kloofendal Nature Reserve, Fri 20 at 18h30. Adults R70, kids R50.

Jonathan Leeming will lead a presentation, followed by an evening walk in the reserve, from 18h30 to 20h30 on Friday 20 January 2017, looking for scorpions and spiders.
Are you scared of scorpions and spiders?
Do you know that which scorpions in South Africa are not very dangerous?
Did you know that deaths attributed to spider bite in South Africa are caused by secondary infections and not the spider venom itself?
Did you know that scorpions glow light green under UV (Ultra-Violet) light?
Do you know how to find spiders at night?
Jonathan is the author of ‘Scorpions of Southern Africa’ and co-authored, with Astri Leroy (SA’s ‘Spiderwoman’ – also his wife!) ‘Spiderwatch in Southern Africa’.
Please take a head-torch if you have one, and a UV torch, if you have one.
R 70 per adult, R 50 per child.
R 10 per car for the security guard.
Entry into the reserve is free. There are picnic and ablution facilities.
There is no tuck shop and no restaurant, so please take your own refreshments.
