Belgian-born and Jo’burg-based, Morbee fronted legendary SA band, The Parlotones – twelve years and seven albums later, he has decided to pursue a solo-career performing as Kahn. He attributes his musical influences to a range of genres as he seeks to deliver a cathartic musical experience for his audience that is made all the more vivid through his direct and accessible lyrics.
Celebrated African-Ska band The Rudimentals is a socially diverse, fun-filled act that connects with people of all ages and tastes. Their multi-faceted musical offering is made up of eight highly accomplished, talented and entertaining musicians, mixing both youth and experience to deliver a unique sound that defies compartmentalisation. They define the music they write as a “quest for the ultimate 21st century Pan African Ska party”, comprising of dance-hall raps, reggae rhythms and a skanking back beat of vintage 70’s Ska, with a brew of mbaquanga riffs and jazz and blues tones.
Sonic Citizen is the vision of super talented SA muso, Mark Fransman. Mark is a multi-award winning, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer, who hails from the Mother City! Get ready to be amazed as he takes you on a dulcet journey of Afro-fusion sounds.
Gates to the concert area open at 15h00. Concert starts at 16h00.
