It’s the start of a new year and many people set new years resolutions to do many different things – but one of the most important things is to look after your body (after all, you only have one!)
Join the Cape Town Science Centre as they discover ways to look after our bodies.
Saturday 28 January
11h00 DNA extraction (Entry fee only | ages 6+)
What make you, uniquely you? See actual DNA and hold it in your hand.
15h00 Test your dominant side (Entry fee only | ages 6+)
One side is longer and stronger than the other… Left or Right, which will win?
Sunday 29 January
11h00 Testing the food we eat (Entry fee only | ages 6+)
Build a food pyramid, and use a chemical to test for starch.
15h00 Building block foods (Entry fee only | ages 6+)
Is fish really brain food? Discover the important foods that help our bodies grow and develop.
12h00 and 14h00 Camera Obscura shows (weather-dependent)
Take a tour of the city while standing on one spot – join a Camera Obscura tour for a 360° view of the surrounding area. Listen out for announcements to join the tour.
13h00 Science show
Daily science shows will excite while nurturing awareness that science is a part of our daily lives.
